Internship Opportunities
The World Fighting Martial Arts Federation (WFMAF) offers internship opportunities to high school and college students who want to gain hands-on experience in the promotion of traditional martial arts, its diverse culture, and the overall mission of the WFMAF to enhance the communication and exchange of martial arts across borders. We also provide volunteering opportunity for people that are not currently in high school or college, but would like to help in anyway they can.
All internships are unpaid, however, the benefits are vast in addition to gaining hands-on experience. Interns who put in the time will receive a certification from the WFMAF, a letter for their contribution, a recommendation upon request, and valuable experience to put on their resumes. Interns will be able to attend the major October tournament, events, and banquet dinner for free or at discounted price, and to meet, interact, and learn from some of the most revered martial arts masters from the global martial arts community.
Tournament and Event Coordinator
Responsibilities: To research venues, hotels, meeting places in which to host large tournaments, workshops, meetings, and related events. Assist with special events to promote the WFMAF and increase attendance. Work with the logistics team for event setup, and to keep track of internal and external participants, such as judges, competitors, speakers, organizing staffs, medical staffs, and journalists. Ideal candidates would be someone with some experience in event management or is willing to learn.
Social Media Coordinator
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a social media presence to target new audiences and keep track of trends, followers, and solicit new members to join the WFMAF. Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, etc., adding weekly photos, posts or blurbs to keep these platforms updated and current. Develop and supervise the creation of newsletters and blogs. Use social media to raise awareness of the WFMAF, and their tournaments and events. Ideal candidates would be someone with some experience or a strong interest in social media promotion.
Translator
Responsibilities: Translation of the WFMAF’s website, sanctioned material, internal documents, and promotional material into other languages to increase the reach of WFMAF’s presence globally. Languages that will be useful are English with Chinese, Spanish, Russian, and major European languages. Other languages are also welcome. Ideal candidate would be someone with advanced level writing and speaking skill for one or two languages listed above in addition to English.
